2018 is coming to an end, so this is an excellent time to look back on JASA’s developments and milestones in 2018. It has been a great year, and the Sleever played a large role in this year.
Innovation
In 2018 JASA took significant steps in innovating our machines. In February we launched the Next Generation Sleever. “We presented the new Sleever at our stands at both Fruit Logistica and Anuga Foodtec which was one of the highlights of the year. It’s no surprise that the Sleever turned out to be an international success”, says Eduard de Haan, JASA CEO.
“In 2019 we’ll keep investing in the next generation Sleever with our new motto: it’s all about paper.”
Going beyond just packing products
For JASA, 2018 was the year of trays. We’ve created large and complex production lines for several clients. Those packaging lines are packing ready-to-eat meals, salads, meat and fish, processed fruit and tapas. Those challenges caused us to create new developments such as tact conveyers and filling stations and adjustable ergonomic workstations. These workstations support employees adding products to the trays manually.
“We also noticed that customers approached us with different questions. For instance, if we can help them optimize their complete production line to help increase output. That’s why we offer complete packaging lines that go beyond just packing products."
JASA goes international
JASA saw amazing international growth as well. “In 2018 we saw an increase in our profits from our distributors”, Eduard says. “And of course the biggest milestone of 2018 is opening our office in America.”
On the 28th of March 2018 JASA Inc. was officially founded. At the end of October, Sandra Somford-Pannekeet, Joost Somford and their children boarded a plane to Virginia to open an office in the USA. They recently signed the papers to rent an office and storage space. Together with the distributors and the American office we are ready to expand our business internationally with our main focus on the Sleever.
JASA keeps on growing
When it comes to professionalizing, JASA took some major steps this year. The company grew to 75 employees and made extra investments in training and education. “A few members of the R&D and Engineering department took machine safety training. We’re also implementing the principles of the Quick Response Manufacturing/Management”, Eduard says. “This year we also launched our new website, and we got a lot of response and mentions on social media.”
“On top of that, we’re streamlining internal processes with one goal: a lot of happy customers. I’m really grateful for the hard work all employees put in this year. I’m looking forward to all the amazing things that we’ll create together in 2019!”
